It seems that much of 2015 has been spent waiting for the other shoe to drop. Interest rate expectations have largely gone unmet. Industry consolidation continues to occur, but not at the frantic rate previously projected. The TRID compliance date was delayed at the eleventh hour, but the true definition of "compliance" and "grace" is still unknown. Liability for EMV compliance shifted. The risk and cost of cyber-security (as well as what it means for community banks to remain "secure") still keep some bankers up at night. On top of it all, the looming presidential election year has the future of community banking, or at least the next four years, in a haze with respect to legislation, regulation, and taxes. Despite the unknowns, community banks have and will continue to succeed. In this webinar, industry expert Jeff Gerrish of the legal and consulting firm Gerrish McCreary Smith will take a look back at 2015 and highlight some of the strategic successes of community banks. Mr. Gerrish will also take a look forward into 2016 and provide practical insights into what it will take to succeed in the year to come.
